city home companion, was founded in 2009 by Lauren Kamens. Lauren spent more than 15 years overseeing both the medical and homecare needs for her mother, and as a result, came to understand the enormous difference that quality homecare can make.

Borne of her personal experience, she began working in the Geriatric Care Management field before starting the agency. She personally works with each family to customize the care plan for their loved one and carefully selects the appropriate caregiver(s). She maintains close contact with the family and the caregivers in order to ensure the best care possible.

Lauren, who worked in executive recruitment for over 20 years before opening the agency, holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s Degree from New York University. She continues to study in the field of Gerontology at Brookdale Center on Aging of Hunter College.
